“Mystic” Ms Teek (Munnings X Gold Spring)

2015 15.2 Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare

For the rider who loves the intelligence, athleticism, and adaptability of the Thoroughbred yet also appreciates the rideable gaits, size and refined features of the Welsh Section B. Mystic is 100% Thoroughbred and JC registered, yet is substantially smaller than other members of her breed, resembling a large pony at just 15.2hh. However, she retains the excellent character and incredible ability to learn that would be expected of her line. We are incredibly proud to offer this lady.

With a short back, beautiful legs, a correct and upright neck, and a very refined head - she is the picture of beauty. Her gaits are not intimidating and overpowering, rather she gently floats across the ground with rhythm and balance. Her expression and demeanor are soft - it’s obvious that she loves people.

Mystic’s walk is correct and active, her trot is borrowed from the Welsh ponies, and her canter is sweeping and fun to ride. She has a very soft and responsive mouth - she wears a very gentle bit and is willing to abide by the rein aids. BONUS: she has clean, nearly automatic lead changes in both directions! She is jumping small courses - beautifully and without rushing or stopping. Her transitions are soft and can be achieved off the seat aids. She hacks out around the farm without issue - not intimidated by other horses or animals.

We believe Mystic would be very happy in a variety of disciplines. She would bring home lots of ribbons as a Hunter, as her gaits would be appreciated in the hack, she loves to jump and she has good changes. She is a candidate to help you achieve your USDF Bronze due to her aptitude for changes and her willingness to adjust. She is the right size, temperament and lightness in the bridle to be an excellent Polo Pony. Her bravery and ability to see distances would make her a fun lower-level Eventer. She may even do beautifully as a Fox Hunter due to her phenomenal disposition. Of course, we are confident in her ability to handle trails like a champ.

We love the Storm Cat line in our program, and she is yet another excellent example of these progenies. Tough, athletic, smart, sound and resilient - these are traits of this line that are proven to us over and over again. Her sire, Munnings, was very successful on the track and has produced many wildly successful offspring. He is stunning, with great legs, beautiful color and a soft, honest expression and carries an eye-popping stud fee of 45 THOUSAND! Mystic herself was actually very successful on the track for several years, but you would never know by her temperament - only by her soundness and ability. She is also a proven broodmare, and would fit very nicely in a breeding program for sport-bred TB’s, Welsh crosses, or small Warmbloods.

Mystic would be suitable for:

Hunter/Jumper

Dressage

Lower-level Eventing

Fox Hunting

Polo Pony

Sporthorse Breeding Program

Trails

Lesson/Leasing Program
