The TruBlu Program is a horse-focused, multi-discipline system that seeks to produce brilliant dressage, jumping, and trail sporthorses.
Unique and talented horses and ponies are hand selected for their soundness, athleticism, and intelligence. Through a blend of classical riding theory, biomechanics study, neuroscience, and good-old-fashioned cowboy soul, these horses are produced to shine in their own distinctive way.
Soundness, Safety, Athleticism, and Functionality are the most important traits we strive to select and produce in the horses we offer.
Classical principles rooted in the most ancient teachings on biomechanics, physics, and equestrian philosophy govern the daily operations of TruBlu Equestrian.
How the Program Works
Selection of Sales Candidate
With the help of trusted scouts and advisors, we look for horses and ponies that carry personable temperaments, beautiful movement, willingness, and athleticism.
Each horse is ridden and/or lunged, evaluated, and those who fit our rigorous standards will be evaluated physically.
Soundness Evaluation
Each candidate’s soundness is evaluated with the following:
Flexions (upper and lower)
Neurological tests (tail pulls, blindfolding, etc)
Light vision tests
Tail tucks & spine palpitations
Skin pricks, hoof testers
Heart and lungs evaluation
Hearing tests
Getting to Know
If the candidate passes the soundness evaluation, they are brought to our homebase farm.
There, we allow them to settle in and get to know them.
We find out about their likes and dislikes, saddle fit them, find their favorite bit, establish a healthy diet, and identify potential sticking points to be addressed.
Bringing Up-to-Date
Each sale candidate sells up to date on dental and veterinary work.
Our trusted farrier evaluates the candidate’s feet and recommends corrections needed, if any.
If any registration needs to be updated, the agency is contacted and the appropriate steps are taken.
Training and Career Evaluation
The sales candidate is put into a classically-based training program as a personal horse would be. They are developed according to traditional riding theory and biomechanics - not with gimmicks or tricks.
Their favorite activities and natural inclinations are evaluated, which helps us determine the lifestyle best suited for them.
Listing
When we feel like we can accurately determine the appropriate potential career paths and rider match, the candidate is listed for sale.
Trial rides and PPEs are welcome to determine perfect fit, but are not necessary.
After purchase, we donate to an Equine charity in honor of each TruBlu graduate!
TruBlu Training Influences:
-
The original principals of sound horsemanship provide the backbone around which the TruBlu program is built.
-
A thorough understanding of how horses are built, the mechanisms and patterns they use for locomotion and how to heal those patterns, and the manner in which the horse and rider interact is essential to good training.
-
Horses and people have evolved to behave very different and have different reactions to stimuli. The TruBlu program finds way to help horse and rider meet in the middle and find serenity.
-
Good breathing practices are key to any athletic endeavor - and will carry over into every part of your life.
-
More important than how much weight someone can lift, how flexible they are, or how big their muscles are is how well they can accomplish real-life tasks. Both horse and rider feel more motivated and naturally find solutions to movement problems when faced with a tackling a task.
