Gemini
2013 Buckskin Canadian Sport Horse Mare
(CSHA registered)
For those who are looking for a real-life unicorn in size “large” - this is your tall drink of water! Gemini is a very good-natured and large bodied registered Canadian Sport Horse with fabulous, uphill movement, beautiful color, an easy-going nature, and a unique pedigree.
Bred by Ravine Ranch Sport Horses in Manitoba, Canada - known for their emphasis on AA-friendly temperament and correct conformation. She is by Gringo (Hanoverian), one of Ravine Ranch’s own. Gringo produced crop after crop of upright, level-headed, short backed warmbloods that proved themselves in the hunter and dressage rings - and became the most famous of his sire’s, Gallipoli, offspring. Gemini’s dam, Madonna II, is 3/4 TB X 1/4 Clydesdale! With this mix of blood - it’s no wonder she turned out as beautiful as she did.
She is very short backed, has broad, beefy shoulders with a round barrel, and beautiful, filled-out neck. She flicks her toes in the trot, and moves incredibly uphill without even trying. Her feet are large and barefoot. She’s always wearing a soft, kind expression. She has never been lame, had issues with colic or any other malady, and is an easy keeper.
Gemini has had one owner nearly her entire life. She was started under saddle and in the longlines in early life, and since then, has had low miles u/s - yet has had a ton of life experience! She has traveled all over the US, lived in every imaginable configuration and weather, and has met lots of people and horses. Recently, she has been restarted, both groundwork and ridden work (walk/trot) - and is loving the attention! She is more woah than go, and has a very comfortable set of gaits. She loves raised pole work.
Gemini has enjoyed meticulous care and kind handling her whole life. She spooks at very little, is easy to walk in/out of the pasture, stands well for the farrier/vet, loves to receive pets and love, saddles and bridles well, and is forgiving and charismatic. She would be a wonderful companion for a hunter/dressage AA or JR/YR that loves big-bodied, beautiful, quiet horses. She would also fit extremely well into a warmblood/sporthorse breeding program who is looking to add quality bloodlines to their upcoming crops.
Gemini would be appropriate for:
