“Wild Cherry” “Cherry” Wildcat Princess (Wildcat Red X Bold Truth)
2022 Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare
We call her “Wild Cherry,” but she is anything but wild! This gorgeous, AA and JR-friendly girl is broad, lofty, and sugary sweet - but the best thing about her is the word “fast” is nowhere to be found in her vocabulary!
“Cherry” is the red mare every JR/AA, Pro, and breeder dreams about. She is stunningly correct, with every part of her conformation oozing “big and flashy” - she is sure to get you noticed everywhere you go. She is extraordinarily easy to handle, with big, soft eyes always looking to you for love and direction. Born with relaxation, looseness and maturity in every step, you would never suspect her age. She’s happy to stand and chat on a loose rein, plod along on the buckle, or show off her comfortable, uphill gaits.
“Cherry” has already played lesson pony for a kid, been popped over a handful of small jumps, mastered trot poles, experienced plenty of groundwork, and been started in longlines. She is excellent on the lunge line, but you definitely don’t need to lunge her before you get on! She will happily take plenty of leg, and doesn’t take offense to mistakes.
We unfortunately scheduled her shipping during the blizzard of the year, but that didn’t bother her at all. She happily loaded onto our small Euro-trailer in white-out conditions, and munched on hay all the way to the barn - through traffic jams, long hauls through the backroads, and while the snow trucks threw salt against the side of the trailer.
She falls asleep in the cross ties, begs for affection, is clean and tidy in her stall, and generally is a joy to have around. She gives excellent hugs and kisses. She is wonderful with people and other horses, and we have no doubt she would make a phenomenal addition to any sporthorse breeding program looking to influence their foals with well-mannered, sound, AA-friendly, high-quality Thoroughbred blood. Not to mention, her color is absolutely stunning.
Her pedigree is STAR-STUDDED, granddaughter to the revered stallions D’Wildcat and Bold Truth, with Storm Cat and Seattle Slew/Bold Reasoning only a few generations back. A successful sport career certainly seems to be written in the stars for our sweet girl.
She has excellent, solid feet, cool, tight legs and joints, no abnormalities along the topline, a broad, open chest, clear lungs, clear eyes, and has recently jogged off sound for flexion of upper and lower limbs. She has shown no signs of lameness or loss of function.

An average of 3.5. She doesn’t have much of a spook response and she’s calm about most visual and audio stimuli that other horses would find scary. She responds well to new experiences, and is highly adaptable.
She takes a lot of leg, and can be described as “lazy” at times. More woah than go, and takes a joke well.
She doesn’t rush to the jumps, nor does she think they are anything special.
